The Hidden Framework: How to Identify Your Paradigm

Blog/The Hidden Framework: How to Identify Your Paradigm

Here’s a question many people grapple with: If what people assume to be average results are sub-par, why are they so popular?

The answer lies in the ingrained beliefs that are extremely hard to overcome.

You’d think people would want nothing more than to break free from their mundane and mediocre existence, but many continue to stroll through their lives, accepting their results as if there’s nothing they can do about it. They refuse to believe there is more or better.

What’s keeping so many people stuck?

One thing—paradigms.

What is a Paradigm?

A paradigm is a collection of beliefs held by a group of people. It can be likened to a mental program installed in your subconscious mind.

People tend to underestimate the power of their paradigms even though they have almost exclusive control over their habitual behavior. They think using willpower is enough to change habits they have had all of their life.

The Power of Paradigms

To ignore the power of paradigms is to put yourself at risk when exploring the future. Your future will look much the same as the past until you understand the power of your paradigms and what it takes to change them.

Your paradigm has enormous influence over most aspects of your life. It controls your:

  • Perception
  • Use of time
  • Creativity
  • Effectiveness
  • Productivity
  • Logic
  • Ability to earn money

The paradigm puts a box around every one of these areas, and no matter how hard you try, you can’t knock down its walls until you change the habits that make up the paradigm.

Everyday Habits that Impact Your Life

Perception
We are often our own worst critics. Continuously putting yourself down implies that you are not good enough. But for what and for whom? And according to whose standards?

If this habit or belief is strong in you, it will contradict any attempt to create a happy, prosperous, healthy life.

Use of Time
Millions of people spend excessive time staring at screens daily, often on unnecessary activities like social media or watching TV. This wastes valuable time that could be spent on meaningful activities to improve your quality of life.

Creativity
Believing there’s only one way to do things eliminates countless opportunities and possibilities. This way of thinking is ingrained by an educational system that favors memorizing correct answers over exploring solutions independently.

Effectiveness
Procrastination is a habit that sabotages your effectiveness. It leads to poor-quality work, wasted money, and unnecessary stress. It's not about time management; it's about allowing fear and external motivations to control your actions.

Productivity
Multitasking is less productive than focusing on a single task. Your brain cannot perform multiple tasks successfully at the same time. Eliminating distractions and focusing on one task can significantly boost your productivity.

Logic
Reacting to everything around you results in chaotic thoughts, making it difficult to think logically. Developing a habit of thinking about what you want and responding to life instead of reacting to it is essential for logical thinking and improving your life.

Ability to Earn Money
Wealthy people are comfortable talking about money, but many people are not. This discomfort leads to avoidance and lack of financial goals. Changing your beliefs about money and setting goals can help you achieve financial freedom.

How to Determine Your Paradigm

To identify your paradigm, look at your current results. Ask yourself:

  • How does your day begin?
  • What’s the most money you have ever made in a year?
  • Are you living the way you really want to live? If not, why not?

Answering these questions helps you zero in on your paradigm, understand what controls your results, and identify which habits are working for or against you.

How to Change Your Paradigm

You can’t change your paradigm with self-will alone. There are two ways to do it:

  • Emotional Impact: When something hits you so hard, your life will never be the same. This is usually negative but can also be positive.
  • Repetition of Ideas: Repeatedly exposing yourself to a new idea to replace old beliefs in your subconscious mind.

Choose a new belief aligned with the results you want and the habits that will lead you there. Impress this idea on your subconscious mind by focusing on it, visualizing it, and repeating it with feeling as if you already have what you want.

Consciously replace “bad” habits with good ones to prevent forming another bad habit in place of the old one. Changing even a small part of the old paradigm can make a significant difference in your results.

You cannot change your life permanently until you change your paradigm. Start today by identifying one limiting paradigm and implementing the strategies outlined above. With time and perseverance, you'll break through barriers and achieve your goals.
